Antwerp International School

The Antwerp International School (AIS), founded in 1967, is located in the leafy, residential suburb of Ekeren, only ten kilometers north of the center of Antwerp in Flanders, Belgium. AIS has a student body of about 400 students from 40 Nationalities from ECC-Grade 12. Approximately  95% of our students take the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program reflecting the academic culture of the school.  AIS is also a very healthy and competitive population.  The AIS Griffins regularly take home trophies from regional athletic competitions. The instrumental program and a theatre program that produces multiple performances each year means that the “creative” dialogue is constant and challenging.  Every diploma student at AIS completes an Independent Service project, efforts that frequently take students abroad. Our most popular course is Economics and more than half of our graduating class are credentialed in three or more languages. Student university destinations vary from year to year:  10-20% North America; 30-40% UK; 30-40% Europe and the remainder to Asia (Japan and Korea).

AIS is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) as well as the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC),  AIS was the first school to be accredited by CIS and the first one in the world to receive five consecutive accreditations from this organization.
